Priorities Reign program

Politics

Now that the Cabinet has taken off, it will begin to focus on fleshing out the coalition program. We look forward to fleshing out the agreement and are happy to share our priorities for further consideration.

Financial security

A growing number of working people in the Netherlands may not build up a sufficient pension and saving alone is insufficient. Therefore, investment advice and individual asset management must be made more accessible. Currently, the government mainly emphasizes the risks of investing, while not investing also carries risks. The government would do well to investigate how it can encourage Dutch households with sufficient buffers to use those buffers for more income and thus subsistence security. It is also important in the context of financial security to continue to focus on financial education, with specific attention in education for young people.

Business climate

The Dutch competitive position and business climate have been under pressure for some time due to unfavorable political decisions, among other things. It is therefore good that the government wants to make an effort to tackle national headaches. Dutch business needs harmonized European laws and regulations. By introducing favorable fiscal measures, the Dutch competitive position within Europe can be strengthened and a more attractive business climate in the Netherlands can be created.

Sustainability

We support the government's climate plans. We would like to emphasize that clear and achievable targets are necessary to ensure a sustainable future. We do not support additional measures on top of already existing legal obligations, such as the SFDR. Fiscal incentives can help bring more (institutional) investments to sustainable finance. However, the sustainability policies of investment funds should not lead to tax consequences that discourage investment.
